What a weekend!
Perfect weather gave us all a great opportunity to make the most of everything on offer at Sprint 2024.
From watching and listening to the amazing racing, checking out more than 200 exhibition bikes from Brough Superior to Barry Sheene Yamaha, dropping by the 23 club displays to doing deals at the 45 trade stands and all their products. There were stunt BMX and trials bikes pulling amazing tricks, axe throwing and a climbing tower to test your skills and fire-breathing demo runs from drag bikes and muscle bikes.
We introduced our live race times and info website which gave instant readouts and along with our big screen allowed competitors and visitors to stay completely in touch with results
The manic mopeds challenge helped raise over £1500 for our charities and many lucky winners got rides in the Back to the Future car, the Jaguar-engine trike and the Lotus sports car. And on a balmy Saturday evening the amphitheatre rocked to some great music whilst the street food, ales and gin cocktails all went down very well! And the dancing was a sight to behold!
All we have to do now is improve on that for next year – that’s a mighty challenge!
'A big thank you to you all for again putting on such a great weekend. It is just so relaxed and a great thing to take part in. Much like I recall the racing we used to do (and enjoy) 20 plus years ago.' Peter Merril racer #54
‘We thoroughly enjoyed the event and hope that you invite us back next year. It was great to be able to support a local event, especially one so closely aligned with our chosen pastime.’ Region 17 Harley Group
'A ‘cracking’ weekend........ we had a great time with you and thoroughly enjoyed the warm and friendly atmosphere and but thought it was a very good and well run event.' Garry Norman – (Demo on the twin engine Norton drag bike)
‘This was my first venture onto a track in nearly 30 years and I had an absolute blast …… This will be the highlight weekend in my calendar. Nigel Smyth
'Beautifully run and organised. We loved the band on Saturday night and all the food concessions were appropriate and reasonably priced. The track team were super professional too.' Paul German racer #26
‘Very friendly officials - that rubs off on to competitors. In two stints I've been circuit racing 25 years and yours was the friendliest I've been to.’ David Thorp
